Our Contract With You
Your order is an offer to buy from us and will form a contract conditional to ourselves accepting your order and despatching the goods to you. Prior to despatch we may decline to supply the goods or services to you without giving any reason.
Unless the contrary is shown, our prices are per case as indicated, exclusive of VAT and Duty, exclusive of delivery charges and are subject to confirmation upon acceptance of your order.
Payment is due immediately upon receipt of our invoice. Interest In wine will only keep invoices of En Primeur and Bonded Wines open for 14 days.
Payment can be made by the following:

Approved Debit and Credit Cards
Please note that, regrettably, we can not accept payment by credit card for En Primeur sales.
If you have negotiated a Trade Account with us payment must be made by 30 days from the date of invoice or facilities will be withdrawn.
Overdue sums carry interest from the date when the payment becomes due at 5% per annum above the base rate of Barclays Bank plc from time to time.
Until all sums due to us have been paid we are entitled to retain possession of your goods. If any payment is overdue we are entitled to suspend deliveries and collections.
If any payment is overdue for 14 days or if the goods have not been collected within 3 months of being available we will send written notice to your given address of our intention to sell or otherwise dispose of the goods after 7 days of the date of our written notice unless payment is received in full or the goods are collected. Any method of resale is entirely at our discretion.
Upon resale you will receive a credit of 80% of the lower of the net proceeds of the resale and the price of our original sale to you. Any balance after the credit remains payable by you and shall incur interest.
En Primeur or Wine Futures refers to buying wines before they are bottled and released onto the market. Wines are usually delivered 2 -3 years after the vintage.
When the vintage is bottled it is initially in a Bonded Warehouse. Wine In Bond has no UK Duty or VAT paid on the wine. If you request a wine to be delivered to you in the UK then Duty and VAT will be payable by you in addition to the price -except on wines specifically marked as DP (duty paid) in their description. You may keep your wines in bond ñ please contact us on email@example.com to discuss your requirements.
Vintage Closing and Shipping Dates
En Primeur wines are promoted by a specific vintage and are subject to a closing date for orders. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for the specific vintage closing dates. Such dates are an indication only and are not guaranteed.
Delivery and Storage
Any date as to when wines will be available for delivery or collection is an estimate only and is not intended to be binding. We will notify you once wines are available and you must give at least 72 hours' notice before collection. Transport may be arranged by us on your behalf at the rates of charge indicated. Our current storage charge will apply for all goods which have not been collected / delivered within one month of being available.
En Primeur Delivery and Storage
Normal delivery terms shall apply, see above. We may store your wine for you temporarily on request. Following shipment, you will be contacted by email for your instructions on where you want to take delivery of your wines. We reserve the right to start charging you for rent 7 days after we have contacted you by email. Rent is currently 16 pence per week plus VAT per week or part of for a full case pro rata for half cases. Rates are reviewed annually on the 30th of April.
On receipt of this email, or the subsequent invoice for rent, delivery can be arranged as per our normal delivery terms. Any rent charged on wines withdrawn within 30 days of the date of invoice for rent will be credited.
Customers who elect to have their wine cleared from bond will be required to pay duty and VAT at the prevailing rates prior to the delivery. Please contact us for details of current rates of duty and VAT.
Insurance and Ownership
We will remain responsible for insuring the wine at the original invoice value until your delivery and/or storage instructions have been completed. Ownership of the wines will pass on settlement of all outstanding charges. Once wines have been delivered into your ownership, all liabilities with Interest in Wine Limited will cease. You should take out a separate contract for storage with your storage address.
Title and Risk
We shall retain title to all goods apart from those you have in your direct physical possession following delivery or collection and have been paid for in full. Risk in all goods shall pass to you upon our notifying you that they are available and allocated under your order. If goods within our ownership are held by any third party on your behalf you will upon our request instruct the said third party to hold the goods to our order.
Deliveries should be signed for as "Not Examined" and you should undertake to inspect all goods upon collection or as soon as possible after delivery and to notify ourselves or the carrier immediately of any shortage, damage or any other deficiency. You will be deemed to have accepted the goods as satisfying your order 7 days after collection or delivery and after this date you will not be entitled to reject wines for any reason.
We act in good faith when purchasing wine but are not held responsible for the condition of wines or whether the wine corresponds to the qualities, which might be expected from its description. We undertake the correct safekeeping and the storage of the wine in our possession but are not held accountable for wines in your possession. At our discretion we will consider replacing the remainder of any case sold which is not drinkable.
Orders are placed in accordance with the procedure referred to at the start of these terms and condition and are subject to availability. Where stocks of certain wines are low they may need to be allocated subject to demand. In such cases Interest In Wine reserve the right to allocate the stock to interested customers as it deems fit, always trying to be fair and reasonable.
Return of Goods and Cancellation
Orders for goods to be delivered may be cancelled within 7 working days of receipt of goods. A full refund will be offered provided the goods are in good condition and that we have received the request in writing. Any cancelled order will be refunded within 30 days and all charges for collections are payable by you. If returned wines are not deemed to be in a saleable condition a re-delivery fee will also be paid by you. Contact us on email@example.com.
Cancellation ñ En Primeur
En Primeur wines ordered can only be cancelled within 7 days of placing the order. A full refund of the purchase price of the wines will be given on receipt of notification in writing of cancellation of the order. En Primeur sales are unique and we regret that orders cannot be cancelled after this time. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
We shall not be liable for any failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstance beyond our control.
In certain circumstances we may run a credit check on customers, which will be kept confidential. You have a right of access to all information we hold about you. We may refer any information, which appears to be fraudulent or unlawful to relevant third parties such as police or other enforcement authorities, banks, credit card companies as may be appropriate.
